| University Website: New front end servers deployed successfully |
On 03/06/2014 two new front end servers were deployed to LIVE. The servers replace the old infrastructure and are responsible for caching content from the University's central CMS service for users accessing webpages. The new servers are built on the University's virtual infrastructure allowing them to take advantage of the additional resources should the need arise to meet future requirements. | New Polopoly Web CMS Upgrade Project |
Polopoly is currently the UoE Content Management system ( CMS) of choice and underpins the provision of the University Website and associated services. The current version of Polopoly requires to be upgraded to maintain support from the vendor and compatibility with other components of our IT infrastructure such as our Oracle database. This project will investigate and recommend the version of Polopoly to use and apply the upgrade. |

Project has been delayed due to resource unavailability to investigate the Polopoly version upgrade. Polopoly 10 has been decided upon but it will require a local install before estimates can be firmed up. This is now in progress.
