31/7/13 Benchmark, Load and Performance testing

Benchmarking
To ensure that improved performance is delivered by this project, a measure of current behaviors of the LIVE wiki - acceptable and unacceptable - is required.
More definition is required around what "good" and "bad" performance is. We need to know what type of action performs badly and we need to be able to measure these things.
These results ( taken from current LIVE) can be compared with either new DEV or TEST, whichever best represents LIVE.
Suggested actions include:
- saving pages
- attaching files
- logging in and out
ACTION: Morna to raise requirements for benchmarks again at team meeting
Performance tuning
DevTech would expect to start looking at this in DEV
Load testing
Use TEST, although DEV will be considered if sufficiently representative of LIVE
Disaster Recovery and Resilience
These are two different things.
The wiki is a level 1 service. We should clarify with Production management whether the university's current DR measures are still sufficient.
The wiki is a level 1 service. We should clarify with David Smith as to what resilience measures that we might be able to take fit best with the university's strategy and if any new measures should be regarded as mandatory.
ACTION: Morna to clarify with Davis Smyth
