5/8/13 Kick off meeting
Attending:
Rhian Davies, Garry Robertson, Iain Fiddes, Ewan Scott, David McNicol,Morna Findlay
The meeting discussed the objectives of this project and where current work (which had begun under FIN083) stood.
Single Sign-on-Launchpad
This work was begun under FIN083 when Peter Jackson was tasked to produce a prototype shibboleth-eFin-launchpad implementation.
Iain reported that Peter had encountered some issues and it was not clear whether these were to do with shibboleth, Launchpad or some other application. Peter, David and Iain suggested that the work take a new tack ie:
- Set up a prototype test implementation with ABS single-sign-on/Launchpad
- Once these technologies are understood, consider next steps - eg. To implement ABS solution or to press on with shibboleth solution.
- Estimates and recommendation for next steps to be produced at this stage.
This work will be independent of other FIN091 work.
ACTION: Morna and Iain to investigate when David will be available to carry out this work
eFinancials databases migrations
DEV, TEST and LIVE to be migrated to new infrastructure.
Mark has investigated why the triggers cause an issue with dataguard. The suggestion is that if the connections of the SYS user to the database are not logged then the triggers can be used with dataguard.
ACTION:
Rhian to open call with ABS re whether SYS user access to database can be removed from logging trigger.
DEV migration complete - but there is an unresolved e-expenses issue ( who is pursuing this?)
TEST migration scheduled for 9/8/13 - Extensive testing will be required by FIS team and business partners.
ACTION: Garry to ensure FIS available for testing and to alert business partners to upcoming test requirements.
LIVE migration date to be confirmed with FIS
ACTION: Garry to confirm whether second or third week in September will be suitable.
Iain noted that the migration and use of dataguard may allow resilience benefits which Finance may wish to make use of.
Supplier self-service
This has been installed on DEV and is awaiting testing by Finance.
Once Finance have tested, Ewan can investigate any performance issues reported in DEV.
SSS will not be implemented on TEST or LIVE before the database migrations are complete.
ACTION:
Garry to test SSS on DEV
Improvements to DR procedures
Plans to make changes to the current DR arangements have been carried over from FIN083. Ewan and Iain notes that there may be improvements in backup and resilience measures that may now be available to Finance.
ACTION: Ewan to summarise current position and proposed changes for Finance
JIRA carried over from FIN083 (timeouts on eFIN sessions)
Ewan will carry out latest ABS suggestion and code to FIN091.
Any further work on this will be passed to support - it may be the best thing is just to remove the timeouts as there are currently no known issues with orphaned spinning processes.
ACTION: Ewan to reduce timeouts to 10 mins as suggested by ABS.
Summary of actions:
- Morna to secure David McNicol as resource for SSO/Lpad work
- Garry to ensure FIS available for testing of migrated TESt database and to alert business partners to upcoming test requirements.
- Garry to confirm whether second or third week in September will be suitable for upgrade of LIVE database
- Garry to test SSS on DEV
- Ewan to summarise current DR/backup/resilience position and proposed possible changes for Finance
- Ewan to reduce timeouts to 10 mins as suggested by ABS.
