28/8/13 Team Meeting
Attending:
Garry Robertson, Anne Finnan, Ewan Scott, Mark Lang
Project estimate
The team discussed the project estimate. Morna noted that the estimation algorithm treats variations in the estimate of 1-2-3 the same as 10-20-30 - ie regards this as evidence of uncertainty therefore skewing the estimate towards the worst case.
The team took the view that part of the reason for this uncertainty was a legacy of incomplete testing from the precious project, FIN083. Many crons and interfaces were never tested by project FIN083 on DEV, as a deliberate strategy to move testing unto TEST instead. Part of the database migration process is to move many of the eFIn cron jobs into scheduled database jobs but these must all be tested on DEV first before they can be moved. The team therefore consider the estimate cannot be reduced.
Morna reported that WIS had approved that database migration work can proceed in the absence of an agreed estimate pending the return of Rhian from leave.
Morna asked Garry to alert LIz to the fact that the current estimate is greater than the project proposal estimate.
ACTION:
Garry to discuss estimate with Liz.
Morna to discuss estimate with Rhian
Supplier Self-Service Testing
Strictly speaking, WIS have not agred that work on this can proceed in the absence of an approved brief or estimate. Howver Mark reported that the effort to put SSS into TEST would be minor and Morna asked hin to proceed wth that.
Anne asked how this would be tested - presumably a suppler will have to take part. Anne suggested that ABS might act as a supplier for testingpurposes. Garry will ope a call asking for ABS advice on testing SSS and asking ABS if they can act as a supplier for test purposes.
ACTION:
Mark to put SSS into TEST
Garry to open call re testing SSS with ABS.
e-expenses JIRAs
Morna had opened a JIRA asking Douglas to remove bad data thought to be causing e-expenses to fail on old DEV. There was confusion about who had asked for this and what this meant. ( see previous minutes) Mark will review the thinking behind this.
ACTION
Morna will assign e-expenses bad data JIRA to Mark
Licences
We still need more on TEST. ABS have been asked to give us more but haven't doen this yet.
ACTION:
Garry to chase up TEST licenses with ABS
Old URLs
ACTION:
Garry will alert FIS that all old URLs (efin41)will be deleted on Monday 2 September.
Mark will delete old URLS on Monday 2 September
Database LIVE migration date
This can't begin on Friday 18/10/13 as Mark is on annual leave.
ACTION:
Garry to confirm that Finance agree the update will proceed on 25/10/13
FIS testing of database migration
Garry reported that FIS had not yet begun to test eFIn or related applications.
ACTION:
Garry to deliver FIS test plan to IS applications and report on testing progress.
