| Delivery of CMDB Process and Database to Edinburgh UniDesk |
The CMDB Module within UniDesk has been activated for Edinburgh, with our partners in Abertay, St Andrews and Sheffield to follow soon. UniDesk now provides a Configuration Management Database that can be used to record assets and their relationships, view these in a graphical interface, and to provide the Asset data via a one-off or regular import via CSV file, for hardware, software and services. The CMDB is integrated with current Incident, Problem and Change&Release processes in UniDesk. |

Object Types list - no list, we just get what we get from each institution. Is that right?

| Key Points and Actions from the November Workshops |
SMI003 – UniDesK CMDB – The November Workshops Key points and actions from Workshop 1- CMDB Configuration. 1. Guy’s CMDB design document was signed off. 2. Remco’s Holding Table design documents were signed off, with couple of updates to Software to do and also Service Table (see below). 3. Geir’s CSV to Holding Table design document was signed off, but it needs updates on the unique naming to clarify the generic solution. |

| Review of Scope Changes |
PM reviewed the project issues with Bryan, Stuart and Alex and the governance recommendation is as follows
Holding Tables and Import 1) The decision to descope the Software Table from the process is not accepted as it seems an unnecessary risk to take, given that we and TOPdesk had budgeted for this work. I therefore have asked Remco to provide a Holding Table Design and subsequent Build and Import, I guess treating the Software table as 'default' as per the other tables.

| Conference Call with Remco |
1) The project team need to feedback on the Design document sent out by Guy with the outcomes of last week's discussions. Has Guy captured what was discussed? Seems lighter than I expected.
*** Can we sign-off so he can configure TEST on the 21st October, say sign-offs by this Friday? ***
2) There was much discussion around making the Person import smarter. Changes to the Person import are not in scope of this project, and will be additional effort for us and TOPdesk.

| Team Meeting 29/8/13 |
Team meeting 29/8 Present Bryan, Stefan, Iain, Maurice Declined Robert, Pride No Show Alex, Matt
As discussed,
1 In order to prepare the inputs to the 2/3 October workshop, Matt, Iain and Stefan need to meet regularly through September. *** Action : Matt, as I am away from 12/9, could I ask you to set up these meeting - 4 x 2 hours - as if I set them up and they need to then change or be edited it is a hassle if I am away. ***
2 We should meet with Partners. |

| Unidesk Configuration Management Database (CMDB) project now underway |
An important project which will significantly enhance the University Help Desk system UniDesk is now underway. The configuration management database (CMDB) will hold information about the components of the information systems used in an our IT services and the relationships between those components. The CMDB will provide an organised view of our system configuration data and functionality for viewing and reporting on this data from multiple perspectives e.g. all of the system components used to deliver our Student Records system. |
