Key points and actions from Workshop 2- Tree Walk
The PoC is good. The graphical view is usable. The project team are more than satisfied with the quality of the bespoke solution offered and approve the continuation of the work to deliver a working solution to UniDesk.
The team approved the use of one of the spare object tables for Service objects, allowing universities’ Services to be related to Hardware and Software.
A working version of Tree Walk has been set up in Edinburgh Test, after fixes to two TOPDesk problems were applied by Remco. This allows Edinburgh folk to try out the Tree Walk. Email Remco to find out how to refresh the H2 Database.
The project team have asked for the following enhancements / changes to be estimated As prioritised :
1) Resolve the Edinburgh Test configuration issues
2) Represent Software, Hardware and Service objects by different colours and/or shapes
3) Provide a List View of the Tree using a button to toggle between views (list of services)
4) Allow objects on the graphical view to be clickable
5) Provide an easy interface to trigger refresh of H2 database where relationships are stored
6) Provide a SQL Server user-facing table, holding all the H2 relationships, top allow MI
7) Develop the application fully using SQL Server instead of H2
8) Make the maximum number of levels to be shown a parameter, if not possible set as 15
9) Analyse IE standards issues
10) Elegant solution circular relationships
Remco will work on the list within a budget of 2 days, allowing also for any rework as a result of UAT. Enhancement that are not possible can be reviewed at a later date by Change Advisory Board.
1. The Task List has been updated as per agreed Timetable :
· Provide an implementation plan including fixes for Topdesk bugs – by 29/11 Remco
· complete enhancements by 29/11 - Remco
· update Edinburgh Test with enhancements by 29/11 – Remco/DevTech
· UAT and rework w/c 2/12 – Stefan and Iain
· update All TEST Environments w/c 9/12 – DevTech/Remco
· deploy to LIVE 16/12
Key points and actions from Workshop 3- Person Improvments
There have been issues with TEST environment and at this stage Remco cannot sign-off on his build and test.
However, a working import is available for Edinburgh Test and can be run every night.
One test did complete, for a ‘no change’ run, which saw a 105 minute job decrease to 30 minutes.
Edinburgh shall run this a few times, trying different tests, to see if we can verify the successful test above. As LIVE may have the same issues, this remains a risk.
Remco will no do any more work on Person Import until we feedback.
