Project Meeting 1 - 24-Sep-13

Project Meeting 24-Sep-13

Attendees: Anne F,  Ewan,  Pride,  Nikki and Anne M

-    Anne to email SciQuest by 26-Sep with:

  • For security reasons we would prefer to agree that VPN access is absolutely essential before this is provided to the DataBase server.
    • This is due to a large number of suppliers also requesting access, however alternative methods have been agreed and found to be suitable for their needs.
      • Part of our issue is that the DataBase is on a shared server
    • Is the access you require only related to the Application Server?
  • Could you document exactly what access SciQuest require?
    • We did not receive feedback of any issue or problems related to last install (sorry if you did this in 2011, however they have not reached us).
      • What were there problems with the Go To Meeting option?
    • Have you used any other options rather than VPN?

- Items to be  progressed

-    Ewan

  • TAD complete and reviewed on Thursday 26-Sep, 2 members wtill to review
  • Questions for SciQuest
  • Prep work for Build with SciQuest
  • Ask Jeff how many PCs are setup to use the admin module?
    • 7 PC’s at the moment.

      • 4 in central admin team and

      • 3 in School of Chemistry.

      • If ERM is to be rolled out across additional Departments we may need additional admin users

  • Agree what work SciQuest and Us have to do?
    • Export facility
    • Import back once configured. We complete in partnership with SciQuest
  • Firewall issues (pre build)
    • Confirm firewall port requirements?
    • Are there any changes?
      • This depends as well on whether we do an in-flight upgrade or use parallel environments - something we need SciQuest to give an opinion on.
  • Client Admin uses Oracle 10

    • Can we/should we upgrade the Oracle client to version 11 or do we have to stick with 10.2.0.1?

  • SelectSite uses JAVA Dev 1.6
    • Will JAVA Dev 1.7 work as well?
      • Our preference is to use JAVA Dev 1.7

- Anne

  • Agree when conference calls can be planned with Procurement, SciQuest and Chemistry
  • How much elapsed time is required to complete the Build Work together?
  • How much planning notice is required for this to take place?
    • I understand it is in your schedule, but when is it pencilled in?

Discussion of  User Acceptance Testing

  • Confirm and agree method of upgrading ERM
    • Verify with Craig and Jeff that this option is acceptable
    • Procurement would prefer installing side by side (parallel running)
      • To prove that ERM works as it does currently
      • This may have firewall implications
      • It will be a lot more work for Dev Tech and Select Site
    • SciQuest recommend upgrading in place
    • Dev Tech would prefer to upgrade ERM in place
    • An option might be to upgrade TEST and do the comparison with Current Live
      • That may work as providing  a proof for procurement and chemistry that the upgraded TEST application works as the current LIVE application
