• VPN - options on method to do Upgrade? Discuss options
  • GoToMeeting SciQuest found:
    • the response times slow
    • Edinburgh hours / time difference
    • times out and then SciQuest have to get someone at other end to re-join to and doesn't always work
    • as wanted to provide this  upgrade free, they want to do it their way
    • currently offered for free if using VPN, may not be for GoToMeeting.
  • GoToMeeting Edinburgh
    • feel VPN provides SciQuest with too much control and is not secure.
      • Our TEST application is on a shared VM server, LIVE is on a dedicated server
    • we asked is we could do the upgrade ourselves?
      • SciQuest did not feel we could as it is a complicated upgrade
      • and would need a 3 day window, so physical upgrade < 1 week.
      • Direct access to server probably 3 days (depends on size) and narrow window for running scripts
• Agree if can do upgrade in place?
• usually client exports  LIVE DB to SciQuest and then SciQuest apply upgrade there
• Meanwhile IS Apps copy LIVE to TEST  in preparation for Sciquest
• Once SciQuest verified upgrade, they do the same on TEST in Edinburgh and then
• upload it to LIVE
• Craig happy with this approach
• Craig feels special atttention to  - User set up, - Suppliers and - Supplier codes, not all users in LIVE are Admin users and will not require access to TEST
• Need to ensure UAT is set up correctly
• Existing infrastructure and same user set-up
• Do SciQuest have Test Scripts of their own?
• Training/Webinar to be arranged - Dates?
