The Estates Department requires a document management system to replace and improve upon the current document storage (K drive). There is an increasing need to use a document management system that will improve the management and data protection compliance of all documents associated with new building and refurbishment projects in addition to ongoing maintenance. There is over 250,000 documents on the K drive which will be migrated across to the new Document Management system.

The Department will adopt SharePoint as document management system to improve efficiency. The University has rolled out Office 365 and SharePoint is part of the Office 365 suite and is already installed on all machines. This project is picking up where EST084 Estates Document Management left off.
