Functional Requirements: Over and above those already in place

Single Sign On

SSO should include:

• Mobile apps for iOS
• Android
• Tablet
• Windows based phones/tablets

Visitor Access 

Lynda.com to be, by default ( as with EASE etc), associated to profiles but not marketed as available

Authorised visitors will be able to log into the service on a 'need to learn' basis 

Account Archiving

Block access to Lynda.com for any identity that has not used their account within a set time (low usage accounts)

Archive a user’s account in order to manage the global licence

Users must be able to link their UoE account to a personal account when they leave the university

Account Alterations

We must be able to make changes to an account and update any of the data identified where it changes in the relevant golden copy e.g change of name, email address

Access via VLE

Users will be able to access Lynda.com through technical integration with Learn (LTI integration)

Users will be able to access Lynda.com through technical integration with Moodle (LTI Integration)

Ability to embedd Lynda.com material into VLE's 

Ability to import results from Lynda.com to VLE's

User Access

Users will be able to access the service via a MyEd channel

User Support

Helpline and Digital Skills & Training teams will have a comprehensive knowledge of Lynda.com, and be able to advice on user queries relating to using the service and setting up user accounts.

User Guidance - Users/Master Administrators

Full launch support will include:

• Basic guidance for users
• Sample playlists for users
• New course list
• Case studies
• Linking your Lynda course completions with your LinkedIn Profile
• Usage Statistics – most popular courses, total no of users, average viewing time, etc
• Account cleansing process

BI Analyticals and Reporting

Detailed usage analytics to be accessible through secure Business Objects Universe report generation

Link basic data from Lynda.com with information held universally at UoE below:

• User type (staff/student/visitor)
• College/Division
• School/Planning Unit
• Programme of study

Access to reporting outputs will be restricted to those responsible for supporting Lynda.com within the organisation and business representatives for Digital Learning and Service Excellence.

Lynda.com integrations with VLE's to update to exisiting TELS MI reporting Universe.

Comms

Business Owner: Jenni Houston will provide a separate Comms Plan to support Full Launch

Non-Functional Requirements

Information to be held on the Lynda.com servers, outside the University will only be used for the purposes of creating user accounts in Lynda and BI reporting unless the individual decides to link their Lynda.com account with their LinkedIn account. Thereafter the University cannot be held accountable for any misuse of data shared.

The information sent to Lynda is encrypted (sent via https).
