Overview
Description
Universities Superannuation Scheme (USS) has reformed their benefits structure and the majority of the changes were implemented under (PPP006) Changes to USS Pension Scheme project. This project has been set up as Phase 2 of USS Pension Scheme Changes project and is required to implement a further round of changes requested by USS which includes updates to the existing USS Contributions Interface. The changes include a new 'Voluntary Salary Cap' (VSC) and the introduction of USS AVCs. An updated USS Contributions Interface specification has been issued by USS which details the changes required.
This project also includes the fixes for issues identified from phase 1.
Objectives
- Deliver the functional configuration for the new USS AVCs by 30 September 2016
- Deliver the functional configuration for the changes required to the USS regular contributions by September 2016
- Deliver all the functional configuration required for the VSC 30 September 2016
- Deliver all outstanding Jira's relating to bugs identified after the implementation of PPP006 in priority order
- Update the customised Oracle 'Pensions Form' used by the Pensions team
- Review the existing USS extract processes/reports, with an aim to change or decommission
- Knowledge transfer from the contract Developer to IS Applications Management regarding the 'FND load facility' in Oracle to package developments for implementation to the next environment
Dependencies and Constraints
The Payroll and Pensions Systems Technical Support Manager will deliver the functional configuration changes. Further requirements may need to be added by USS, particularly around maternity and VSC. The Pensions Manager is currently in talks regarding these (10 August 2016).
This project could be impacted by loss of resources from the Business or IS Applications to any of the other projects in the PPP programme and some of the projects in the HRS programme. This project is also likely to be impacted by work that other projects and the services are carrying out on the DEV, TEST and LIVE environments.
