This project will encompass the coordination and carrying out of an overarching review of the different roles involved in project management. The review will focus on the current role descriptions relating to project delivery, the existing guidance relating to roles and responsibilities and the attitudes to this within the Applications Directorate and some key partners.
The review will consider the following roles:
- Project Manager
- Programme Manager
- Portfolio Manager
- Project Sponsor
- Senior Supplier
- Business Lead
It will, however, not consider the role of Business Analysts.
Improvements and updates will be identified based on the review, and a number of low effort, high reward changes may be delivered at the end of the project to streamline the use of these roles within the Applications Directorate in the future. A RACI matrix will be used to easily communicate the project's findings, informing stakeholders of which project role is responsible, accountable, consulted or informed for and about certain aspects of a well run project.
