Project Status Update 11th August
The QMRI has been successfully running Panopto sessions since its installation and Jillian Hosie and Karen Chapman are the ‘local champions’ for the QMRI site. The sessions that have used Panopto include final year student lecture streamed into the Chancellor’s Building, an inaugural lecture which was streamed and a CVS seminar which was streamed and recorded.
Lecture Theatre B in the Chancellor’s Building has just been refurbished and had Panopto installed as part of that work. There has been interest from people to start using it for sessions.
The IGMM Systems Medicine Lecture Theatre has had some audio issues with the setup which the CSOs (Gary is leading) are currently sorting. I know they’re keen to use the system, but I haven't run anything yet. Stephen Cass was originally going to be the ‘local champion’ for the Western General site, but that is currently being handed over to another person. We will update the name when we have it.
There have been delays in installing the kit in the Vet School. More information is required about this delay and we are working to obtain it.
SCRM seminar room hasn’t been completed yet, as the room has not been available. The estimate is to have this up and running by mid-September.
Due to a lack of interest in using the Greenfield Suite for recording and streaming sessions, it has been decided that it will make more sense to install that kit into the Division Lecture Theatre in the Kennedy Tower (Psychiatry). This currently has CapturEd installed, so Panopto can be installed in its place.
Gary Blackie and Peter Crooks are the MVM named technical contacts for Panopto. This means they will essentially be seen as the MVM experts and will be the staff who will speak to Panopto for any matters relating to MVM use.
