Closure Comments from Management Accounts
Comments from Stuart.
All I would add is that I thought the wording on establishment of SLAs was a little misleading, in that the agreements already existed between FIS and IS and between the University and Account-Ability. Were these amended?
Please get in touch if you have questions on any of the comments.

Corporate Planner was a new system to support for us in IS Apps:
- we had no background information available to us
- no agreements, documentation etc
- so we were starting from zero.
Lorna's feedback is that
1) I would have benefitted from some familiarisation training on IS Project Management methodology and tools - for example I had no idea what JIRA was and I responded to a JIRA email, not understanding how to use it.
- That was down to the PM not realising where Management Accounts were starting from, however you picked up JIRA and te use of it very quickly
- For another project - training in IS Project Methodology and tools can be made available. There are regular courses run by Project Services that you can enrol on.
2) I would still like greater understanding of why the charge increased from 25 to 46 days, with time broken down to individuals involved, so we can learn more on how projects need to be estimated.
- https://www.projects.ed.ac.uk/project/fin092/issues/5 detiails the increase from 25 to 36 days
- where 5 days where additional Dev Tech support and 6 days were investigating whether BOXI could be used (Apps Supp and Finance & Procuement Dev Team).
- https://www.projects.ed.ac.uk/project/fin092/issues/9 details the increase from 36 days to 46 days
where
- Supporting Supplier on Site - over several days
- Completing JIRA issues
- Project Meetings and Discussions
- Technical Meetings and supporting Corporate Planner
- Project Management
Work to complete
- Service Level procedures agreed with Application Support. Anne F will be forwarding you passing the information to youselves, FIS and other areas in IS Apps
- Technical pilot conclusions
- Support Supplier on Site
- Project Management
- Closure
The project 46 days were split between the different teams
Comments from Julia
There seems to be duplication of a few points on this report? The first five points are repeated in the report.
Thanks - they have been removed
The joint notes are "CP Operations Document" and "CP Control Centre procedures".
Although the eFIN interface has been scoped, this has not been delivered (& was not part of this project?). This should be made a little clearer in the report.
I'm confused by the comment, "Also we need to look at how the data is used by the software and backed up. The current setup shows that it will be difficult for us to manage the growth and the disaster recovery scenario." Who are "we"? Is this ISG or a Management Accounts issue? We create data backups each morning & retain three days of data. And, we can recover data from these backups.
"However the current license will not allow more than 3 administrators. The license cost will need to be investigated if the admin numbers need increased". Is this an ISG issue? We can add more than three administrators/users & assign them to the licence. The licence is for three "concurrent users" which has been sufficient for our purposes to date but will need reviewing going forward.
The date on the completion report is 21st August but this is my first sight of this?
The date on the Completion Report is the date the Project Website was requested, I am unable to change that date. We only started the project after that time.
Cannot speak to you to discuss, if you would like to progress, best if Pascal, Anne and Julie discuss this next year.
