McAfee anti-virus software is deployed on approximately 500 windows file servers. This is done on an individual basis and managed from a central console. This software has been in place for a number of years. Given the majority of servers are virtual, this project is to assess the current offerings to determine whether current provision is still suitable and whether new developments providing protection at the hypervisor layer would be a more efficient method of installation and management. Enterprise solutions providing additional protection for the network edge are of particualr interest in this investigation.
