The BI/MI Programme is the continuation of the work to foster an ongoing BI capability, with a three year budget outlined under the Digital Transformation portfolio. The budget is largely committed to funding a dedicated team to deliver HR and Finance strategic reporting
For each business area datamart , a new project will be created.
DTI049 will deliver HR Strategic Reporting
DTI050 will deliver Finance Strategic Reporting
--
DTI050 will run as an agile project to deliver the Finance datamart to underpin FInance Strategic Reporting.
Separate new projects will be created within the DTI BI/MI programme for Payroll and eRecruitment and Applications.
The DTI050 scope includes the business analysis / user engagement tasks to understand the scope and gaps and limitations of the existing Finance Strategic Reporting solutions . The ambition is that the new Finance Strategic reporting solution will standardise the calculations that underpin Finance strategic reporting and move much of the heavy lifting from the front end BI tools to the backend datamart. This should make it easier for MI analysts and BI Tools exports to build new dashboards and reports to answer the important business questions , without each analyst having to locally apply the same complex transformations to raw Finance data.
The DTI050 project will need to deliver in line with Core systems roll-out , at the point that users switch from the legacy eFinancials system to the new Core Oracle Finance system
