  • Technical
    • Confirmed that backups on the live environment are being successfully completed for MongoDB
    • Noted that space required for
      • MongoDB has all but tripled in three days from 20mb to 60 mb
      • Course data has all but tripled from 5mb to 18mb
  • Project Planning 
    • Requirement to extend the project by two weeks to complete all remaining activity.  Currently awaiting approval from the business.

    • Technical Review meeting held 
    • Live Download 
      • Whilst the connectivity issues between the  python server and the MongoDB server, the download generated a memory error whilst running during the day 
        • Adjustments are being made to the to reduce the memory utiliation and this will be initially tested through Dev and Test
        • Overnight job to be monitored - as less traffic on the system 
      • Live download successfully processed on Friday morning 
      • Arrangements to be made to commence daily cron at 03.00

        • A few post go-live issues were encountered but by Thursday 15th August 
          • Course data had been successfully downloaded into the MariaDB
          • Firewall issues are currently preventing clickstream data to be downloaded to the MongoDB

        • data issue at source, causing records to be lost from the download has been resolved

        • after conducting testing on the edX weekly and daily data dump the business lead has signed-off the data in Dev

        • Advised that Peter is working on the puppet code for Mongo dB this week (amongst other things) and Nigel is booked purely on this from Monday to get into test. 
      • User Acceptance Testing 
        • ​​​​​​​Still to complete tests on MongoDB - discussions on going to determine if latest data from edX can be uploaded to the Dev environment to commence checks

      • Development 
        • PP has conducted his own development review, which has been positive: the work is future-proof, robust and everything that was identified at the start of the project is there. 
        • Additional development has been identified to add a log-in table, triggering an email when something goes wrong, or when data comes in that we're not expecting. If this occurs the download process would stop, trigger the email, and then roll back to the previous day

        • the download process had been successfully processed on the Dev environment 
      • User Acceptance Testing 
        • Due to firewall issues prohibiting access to Dev environment , it has not been possible to view data
      • Technical Update 
        • It was noted that the current puppet build of MariaDB was preventing certain applications to be deployed to Dev and Test and was impacting on Production
        • The request for the remaining VM's has now been placed with ITI

      • Resourcing 
        • Dev Tech resourcing according to revised plan.  However, it would appear that the technical resource is overbooked and does not appear to be available.  This has been highlighted with the Resource manager 
      • Development Environment 
        • The build of the Dev environment for both MariaDB and MongoDB has been completed and handed over to teh development team 
        • Data Czar key has been provided 
        • A full extract and upload process has been completed and teh data is now ready for review
