Priority and Funding

Replacing old versions of software is necessary for the continued stability, performance and maintenance of running IT services.

For 9i databases, premier support ended July 2007 with extended support having ended in July 2010. Security patches for the product are no longer released and there is no support available for the product by the vendor other than through an upgrade path.

Impact and Dependencies

The project will identify the applications which feed and use the PUBS database. The success of the project depends on whether these applications are already known to be, or can be proved to be, compatible with Oracle 11g.
