Staff database project

Project scope

This project should deliver the following, if possible as integrated functions:

1.Staff database

For EUSA staff to search for colleagues. Internal use only.

Suggested fields:

• First name
• Last name
• Job title
• Department
• Email
• Phone
• Office location
• Photo (jpeg image)

2.Staff passes

Data to be pulled from the system into a format which can be passed to a staff pass supplier.

Fields as per above. Internal use only.

3.Staff contact details on the EUSA website

This is a front facing function with a limited number of contacts which would be of use for students and University staff. Ideally this information could be pulled from the ‘main’ database to avoid duplication when updating. If this isn’t possible it could be manually added to the website as a page build.

4.Staff ‘intranet’

If software option 2 is found to be favourable a by-product of this project could be an area of the MSL website closed off to a ‘membership group’ (EUSA staff) and act as an ‘intranet’. It could host the staff directory but also pages for departments like IT, HR and Marketing - to help staff navigate internal support. Internal use only.  

Note: The amount of data is estimated at 120 contacts.
