This project aims to address known deficiencies in the current mail directory provision by:

• Supporting aliases in multiple domains (currently only .ed.ac.uk is supported).

• Propagating this richer mail address data to the systems that consume it, in particular the IDM.

• Allowing domain owners to maintain and import their domain's data.

• Providing an enhanced mail address search via the LDAP protocol.

• Enhancing the search facility on the University web site by allowing improved searching on name fields and returning results in multiple domains.

• Continuing to generate the outputs currently generated as long as they are needed.
