Work/Task Breakdown

The work / task breakdown at this stage is still at a high level and will need to be reviewed / updated once analysis and consultation is completed.  At this stage the following stages are expected:

  • Initiation: Including development of project brief and approval process.
  • Planning: Further define scope, produce plan and wider project documentation, develop dedicated project team.
  • Analyse: Business analysis will include; requirements review,  process review, data gathering and consultation. System and process analysis will review current and proposed franchise arrangements. 
  • Development:  This will include the development of all requirements aligned to systems, resource, site, legislation, and processes.
  • Integration and Acceptance: establish and Implement the franchise solution, establish On Site readiness, training, communication roll out, operational support, and continuity arrangements rolled out.
  • Deployment:  This involves rolling out the solution agreed within the "Integration and Acceptance" stage.
  • Delivery Review / Closure: This will include executing a hand over to team progressing BAU, completing a review of the project and assessment of project delivery. 

Resources, Skills and Costs

The above phases include tasks for the wider project team.  Defined roles and responsibilities are included within the project brief and managed through the project plan however the estimations process  includes IS Applications resource only.

Resources will be required from:

  • Application Directorate
  • HR
  • Payroll and Pension
  • Estates
  • Careers Service

Signing off for deployment will be: 

  • Project Sponsor
  • Senior Stakeholders
  • Programme Manager
  • Project Manager

Project Governance

  • Project progress will be reported in line with IS Applications monthly reporting process.
  • Each key milestone will be assessed in detail by the project team before formal reporting to WIS. 
  • Weekly meetings will be scheduled with the project team members but these will only be used if required.
  • Monthly key stakeholder meetings will be scheduled.
  • A wider communication and engagement plan will be developed for project stakeholders.
