Priority and Funding

This is a priority 2 project within the INF programme and is Core Funded, with 100 days allocated via Annual Planning Proposal for 15/16 financial year. It has an overall priority within the INF programme of 2. The four servers (2 x Dev; 2 x Test) were acquired in 2014-15. Licensing costs have yet to be established as these will be predicated on which new features we recommend for inclusion.

Impact and Dependencies

This project will establish the Dev and Test environments for our upgraded Oracle database services, and develop the processes and procedures that will allow the new Live infrastructure to be built and any future migrations to be planned. Apart from the test migration of selected databases as proof of concept, this project will not be responsible for the migration of any other existing databases to the new infrastructure. Other programmes should be made aware of the intention to build this new service and prepare for future migrations to the new infrastructures via the Annual Planning process.
