This project will deliver a new IT system to support the College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (CAHSS)’s annual report writing processes for quality monitoring at a Programme level and quality reporting at a School level. This follows a previous project which analysed the existing systems in place across the CAHSS schools and reported to the CAHSS QA Committee.
A recent Senate QA Committee paper set out the new templates to support the annual programme and school QA reporting processes within the University, as part of the new University Quality Framework (UQF), and this will help inform the development of this system. It is intended that the system could be used beyond the life of this project by other Colleges as well as CAHSS.
This project has been selected to be run as an Agile project. This means that the development of the system will be undertaken in short bursts known as 'iterations'. Colleagues in CAHSS will be an integral part of the delivery team and are involved throughout as we deliver smaller more frequent releases of software allowing a quicker return on investment. This method will also allow colleagues in CAHSS the opportunity to help steer the development as new requirements are discovered. Each iteration is a self-enclosed delivery package that includes design, build, testing, documentation and delivery.
