Schedule

The original schedule for the project was not met, mainly due to conflict for the Project Manager/Business Analysts time to complete the initiation of the project.  Once the project initiation was compete the analysis has proceeded well and engagement with around 30 business stakeholders and 6 potential vendors has proceeded well.

Analysis of Resource Usage:

Staff Usage Estimate: 10 days

Staff Usage Actual: 10 days

Staff Usage Variance: 0%

Other Resource Estimate: 0 days

Other Resource Actual: 0 days

Other Resource Variance: 0%

Explanation for variance:

As stated in the schedule section the main variance on this project was the delivered analysis from the original timeline due to Project Services conflicts with the Timetabling Live Service.

Key Learning Points:

  • Engagement with a wide variety of stakeholders in the Business School, Law, ERI, Development Alumni, Student Systems, CAM and Procurement has worked really well.  Generally there is a real drive to establish a CRM so it has been good practice working in partnership as it will mean a more sustainable approach for the future adoption of a CRM.

Outstanding issues:

  • The actual purchase and continued involvement of Project Services will continue under a separate project given that the objectives of this project stopped at making the recommendation.  Although it has been agreed between the Programme Sponsor and Programme manager that the work to start the purchase will continue without delay:
    • The requirements are ready to be sent onto the vendor for response
    • The NCA letter is ready for submission to procurement for approval
