Overview
Background
There is a need to complete this Coldfusion upgrade for EBIS On-Line for the following reasons:-
- The core support from Adobe for Coldfusion 9 will cease on 31/12/16
- The Solaris license agreement for the server upon which the application resides is coming to an end on 31/07/2016.
Therefore EBIS On-Line will need to be migrated off of this server before the end of July 2016, and as such will be upgraded from Coldfusion 9 to Coldfusion 11.
Moving EBIS On-Line onto improved hardware and upgrading the version of Coldfusion may lead to an increase in performance, and more easily scalable applications due to the increases in functionality the upgrade to Coldfusion 11 gives developers. Continued maintenance patches would also be released by Adobe for the time being.
Scope
- Migrate EBIS On-Line to Coldfusion 11 infrastructure servers.
- Migrate associated drawings to new servers.
- Test the functionality of EBIS On-Line.
Out of Scope
- Anything other than that which is essential for the compliance upgrade from ColdFusion 9 to a supported version
- Changes or enhancements to the applications themselves are out of scope. Any changes can be estimated and taken forward as a separate project following the deployment sign-off of the ColdFusion upgrade.
- Disaster Recovery and Load Testing, as agreed by stakeholders.
