Report by Karen Stirling for December 2016
Achievements in Last Period
- Dev Tech Resource Manager has confirmed key resource to be allocated to SRM activity
- High level planning progressing with Tech Man providing estimates and tasks
- Resilience information gathered as part of INF120 project and passed to Project Sponsor and Business Lead
Issues and Risks
- Update from ITI on SRM work due to be completed by Consultants mid November, is that consultancy is complete, however ITI still have a technical hurdle which means they are not in a state ready to go live. The current analysis implies the core issue is in a downstream system from the arena they had consultancy engaged in. The issue currently resides with the vendor of said downstream system. ITI advised that we can likely complete proof of concepts, but they would prefer to resolve the underlying issue. PM has requested if there is a target date for resolution which would help in planning INF119 project tasks.
- As limited progress has been made during December due to availability of resource in advance of festive break, a meeting arranged with Dev Tech on 11th January to review tasks and estimates. This has now taken place and a plan being progressed to agreed dates
- With technical hurdle with SRM and activity still being planned the project manager is to discuss with Project Sponsor and Programme Manager the value of project continuing or if this should be placed on hold.
- Project milestones to be reviewed and agreed
Next Steps
RAG Commentary
The project status is RED due to limited activity and progress on the project, milestones need to be reviewed and agreed.

Report by Chris Orrell for December 2016
Achievements in Last Period
- Project Brief submitted to and approved by 16 December WIS. This was after the Brief and project risks were reviewed at a Key Stakeholder Meeting 13 December.
- User stories within JIRA have been reviewed, updated and new ones created against objectives and deliverables approved within the Project Brief.
- The estimation of the user stories within JIRA have been reviewed and revised.
- It has been agreed with the Edgel Innovation project API26 to use 15 days of their budget to progress Edgel related Python user stories. The Python related tasks will be transferred to API126 within Asta Powerproject so no budget transfer is required.
Issues and Risks
- A Developer seconded from the API026 was scheduled to start the first iteration 16 January. A resource conflict has been raised by ISG003 in addition to a request also raised by project STU251 for 3 days of this person's time. This process needs to be completed so that the start date for the first Python iteration can be scheduled.
- Discussions are ongoing regarding the issue of key infrastructure tasks relating to containerisation not having been performed by ITI. A contingency approach has been defined but a confirmed project approach is still required.
- Resourcing for the full project duration has still to be confirmed though the position has improved.
Next Steps
- User story prioritisation meeting scheduled 11 January.
- Python project planning meeting scheduled with the Product Owner 13 January.
- The first sprint planning meeting was scheduled for 18 January but this will have to be reschedule once the resource conflict has been resolved.
- Complete Planning phase and address resource issues so that resources may be booked.
RAG Commentary
- Amber due to project approach regarding containerisation tasks yet to be fully addressed.
