The System Description Document continues on beyond the project closure as a 'living' document.  For this reason it is created within the Wiki Tech Collab section within the appropriate Service.

A Wiki Template is available called “System Description Document” and Applications Management will create the document on the Tech Collab Wiki using that template. If a System Description Document already exists, Applications Management will be able to inform the project where on the Wiki the document is.

Please paste a link to the System Description Document on the wiki below.

Background

Data historically kept in the Database tiers is now commonly held in unstructured file stores and network mounted to several servers. The data requires to be consistent with relational databases transactional entries, currently the site replication is achieved at the filesystem level via period synchronization whereas the databases are replicated by the dataguard stack per transaction. This has the capacity that upon failover between datacentres that the transactional database and the unstructured data stores are out of sync, requiring rationalization to resolve.
