Resource Conflict with SAS020 MyEd Finance Channel

Issue

As noted in Issue 1.

  • The resourcing coordinator has informed the WPS004 project manager of a resource conflict with the SAS020 New MyEd Finance Channel project for the developer. SAS020 will require all of the developer’s time, therefore they are no longer available for WPS004. SAS020 is looking to launch in July 2020 and the resource manager has indicated they are not be able to commit the developer to WPS004 before then, unless Core HR & Finance is rescheduled. The developer earmarked for WPS004 is the only one that has the required MyEd knowledge for this project. This issue has been raised to the Head of Development and the Development Team Manager. Also raised and noted at WIS on 12/12/2019

Next Steps to resolve

  • Developer and Service Manager to review the user stories and will advise if another developer can pick this up under the supervision of the lead developer who should be resourced at 0.5d per week to review / help. This review is scheduled for 09/01/2020.
  • Project Manager to set up a meeting with resource coordinator, programme manager and developer after the user story review. Options will be discussed to get WPS004 resourced.

Issue: Developer conflict with SAS020 New MyEd Finance Channel project. Resource coordinator is unable to commit developer resource until SAS020 launches in July 2020. Developer is single point of failure as there is no one with the equivalent MyEd experience. Impact: WPS004 is at end of planning and unable to proceed. Developer and Service Manager to review the user stories and a decision to be made if another developer can complete the work if the lead developer can commit to a small amount of time per week to review and be available for help and advice.
