Overview
Background
This project was originally going to be a two phase approach.
- Phase 1 to deliver short-term upgrade to infrastructure
- Phase 2 to evaluate and implement move to new Web version of ThankQ.
Phase 2 has been taken out of scope for this project as Development and Alumni are going to procurement to replace ThankQ and this process could take 9 to 12 months. This work is done under USG014 Development and Alumni CRM Procurement. Following this, the implementation of the chosen product would be completed within the 24 month period.
This project will focus on providing end of life infrastructure upgrades to allow ThankQ to run on a supported environment until procurement of the new software takes place.
Scope
ThankQ is running on the following:

An analysis phase has been completed in order to determine the specification of the infrastructure required for the database and application servers that the existing version on the ThankQ application is supported and will run on.There is only a TEST, TRN and LIVE server, with TRN and LIVE on the same virtual server as is currently set up.
UoE will
- Provide the virtual application and database servers, built and configured to the specification supported in the supplied documentation.
- Support the Access Group in their installation of the application to the new servers and in the migration of the data to the new database.
Development and Alumni have agreed with the Access Group that the Access Group will:
- Install ThankQ application on new server environments
- Complete the database migration and ThankQ application repointed to new database on TEST
- Complete the database migration and ThankQ application repointed to new database on LIVE
