Priority and Funding
Compliance – priority Higher - Core funded (SSP Ring Fenced)
Impact and Dependencies
This project will impact the Scottish Funding Council returns and Teaching Load by providing the FTE for each student.
Dependencies
- The Data Futures requirements remaining relatively stable throughout the period of analysis. HESA assure us that the Coding Manual will remain stable from September 2018.
- Tribal providing detail of their proposed solution to enable us to assess the degree that their software can provide us with an off the shelf solution. We currently have specifications and the software is being delivered through software updates from August 2018, and through the annual SITS software double upgrade (SAC076), with go live planned for March 2019
- The Work and Study Away project (SAS004) within Service Excellence will provide the means to identify off venue activities of the students. Although the WSA project will provide this going forward, it will not contain historic data. It will therefore only have data for students who apply for Work or Study Away following the implementation of the new system. The impact for the statutory returns will need to get off venue data for the start of 19/20 as it is now and change the source of data when WSA project is implemented.
- The PCIM (SAS010) within Service Excellence will provide how the programme and course information is held in the future. This will not impact this project as the PCIM implementation is currently planned post Data Futures, but there will likely be changes post Data Futures implementation.
- Be able to return a HESA student return 2018/19 in the old format but post Aug 2019
- Dependency from GaSP: agreeing the new HECoS coding for courses with schools (programmes already recoded using HECoS codes)
- Beta testing finishes in Sep 2019
