Overview

Background

Synthsys Biosciences are investigating two platforms for managing research data - SEEK and OpenBIS.

Research Services will work with Synthsys to provide infrastructure and support for them to develop and evaluate these applications.

Scope

Deploy configured infrastructure as required for the trial.

Configure Apache web services with EASE/Cosign configurations and advise on integration within the SEEK and OpenBIS applications.

Advise and implement access to DataStore from the deployed infrastructure.

Objectives

Synthsys have been able to configure SEEK and OpenBIS with Cosign and are using DataStore for storing user data.

Deliverables

Virtual machines deployed with appropriate configuration and access for the Synthsys developers.

Apache configured on these machines with SSL, Cosign and EASE.

DataStore space mounted on the virtual machines as appropriate, with appropriate access controls defined.

Benefits

Synthsys will be able to make an informed choice over the most appropriate application for their needs.

Synthsys will have confidence in the ability of Research Services to deploy the application as a managed service.

Success Criteria

Synthsys developers have been able to deploy a functioning instance of both OpenBIS and SEEK.

User data for both is being stored on DataStore.
