Completion Report
Project Summary:
This project undertook a detailed review of the current Procurement Office website, utilising information gathered via an online survey, Google Statistics and by reviewing the procurement websites of other Universities.
A summary of the analysis findings was collated into a review document, which has been handed to Procurement Office for distribution and action. The supporting data has been supplied so that this can be used as a baseline for further reviews in the future.
The project lasted longer than was originally anticipated due to conflicts for the stakeholder's time from 'business-as-usual' activities, but the actual days of effort spent was significantly lower than expected (see comments below Resource Usage figures).
The project has helped Procurement Office to gain a good understanding of how their website is being used and by whom. This valuable information will allow them to further develop the Procurement website to meet the needs of their audience. It also acts as a baseline so that the impact of any enhancements can be measured.

Analysis of Resource Usage:
Staff Usage Estimate: 50 days
Staff Usage Actual: 17 days
Staff Usage Variance: -66%
Other Resource Estimate: 0 days
Other Resource Actual: 0 days
Other Resource Variance: 0%
Explanation for variance:
- Procurement Office were able to undertake the keying of the online survey and the extract of Google Analytics data themselves, which reduced the effort required from IS Apps
Key Learning Points:
- Web expertise resources in Service Management were difficult to secure due to the re-structure of IS. This team could have extracted and analysed the data more effiectively.
Outstanding issues:
- Craig Henderson to produce strategy paper to manage future updates to the website
- Dawn Nicholls to forward MSExcel spreadsheets of survey data and Google Analytics data to Procurement Office - Done 16/10/14
- Dawn Nicholls to extract email details from the online survey and forward to Procument Office - Done 16/10/14
- Dawn Nicholls to forward final versin of review paper to Procurement Office for distribution - Done 16/10/14
