Overview
Background
The Brown family have had a new house built on a plot of land near Edinburgh. The construction of the house is complete and Mr Brown has commissioned this project to manage the decoration of the house and the co-ordination of the moving company.
The Browns are currently in rented accommodation which they must vacate by 30th July.
Scope, Objectives and Deliverables
Scope
This project will co-ordinate and manage the third party suppliers contracted to deliver;
- Internal and external painting
- Moving services
- Fitted carpets
The painting includes the preparation of all surfaces, application of base coat followed by 2 coats of paint (emulsion to walls,white gloss to woodwork).
The selection and purchasing of all materials will be born by the Browns. The cost of all contractors labour will be born by the project.
The design and fitting of the curtains is out of scope of this project. Access to the property for the measuring and fitting of th curtains by Mrs Brown will be by arrangement via the Project Manager.
The unpacking of removal cases will be undertaken by the Brown family after the project has completed.
Objectives
- To paint the inside and outside of the Brown's new house by 30th July
- To have all carpets fitted by 28th July.
- To ensure that the Brown’s furniture is in their new house by 30th July.
Deliverables
- Internal & external painting
- Fitted carpets
- Packing boxes on-site and in the relevant room.
