New Database Infrastructure Now Live
A new database infrastructure for the University's central systems, developed by IS Applications and IS IT Infrastructure, is now available. Initial testing with Estates and Buildings (EBIS) and SOA databases is nearing completion and databases for our other systems will be migrated over the next 18 months.
The new infrastructure comprises a number of servers across our sites at King's Bulidings and Appleton Tower that host our DEV, TEST and LIVE databases. This new infrastructure will deliver faster and more resilient services and make use of Oracle technologies that provide greater opportunities for database recovery and backup.
