Detail INF154
Detail not in the Brief
The project team should recommend which technology team should complete the upgrades for that tool. The following include recommendations from last year project - INF139.
- If a server upgrade is required then Dev Tech will complete the upgrade
- otherwise Tech Man will complete the releases
- For Python consider:
- creating a new Python environment or
- upgrading existing servers
- For Puppet
- the Puppet code Forge Modules need to be upgraded as they are already over 2 years old.
- For Oracle Enterprise - the aim is from now on to split between
- Tech Man - support for point upgrade (in place upgrades)
- Dev Tech within the Dev Tools project - if it is a fuller upgrade, where a new server is required.
- Nexus is a strong contender to be moved over to Production Management to manage quarterly updates
- Nexus has Bamboo plans for automated testing of the main repository types in both Test and Live Nexus environments to cover both pre- and post-deployment testing, and the deployment is puppetised with minimal down time
- Nexus often releases 2 upgrades in quick succession (a week or 2)
- Password Manager Pro was implemented and acceptance tested in July 2019 (INF139), however it was not implemented
- Although ideally the aim was to implement the (6) updated versions in August, this has not been possible before the Sept change freeze.
- It will now be planned in this project, first verifying if there are any later versions to incorporate in Test before implementing to Live
- This work was started by Technology Management and will be carried on by them in this project.
Keep name as Oracle Grid not Enterprise
