New Project: IT Infrastructure Monitoring Solutions Assessment (INF107)

The first of a number of projects to improve the monitoring of our IT infrastructure and services has started.

IS Applications, in conjunction with colleagues in IT Infrastructure, are planning a number of projects to deliver improvements to the monitoring of the IT services which we host and support. Through these projects we aim to better manage performance and capacity and ultimately deliver improved experience for users of our services.

This first project will identify HE institutions who have similar infrastructure and services to that running at Edinburgh University and explore the solutions that they have in place to monitor their IT infrastructure and services. The fact finding, and additional research work, will be used to produce a report discussing possible solutions, costs and benefits. The report will also recommend further work required to improve infrastructure and IT service monitoring at the University.
