Achievement in Last Period

During this period;

• The project planning phase has been completed with the project brief having been approved by the senior business user on behalf of the project sponsor
• The project has been planned to deliver immediate benefit to the business by taking the following approach
  • The upgrade of the Schneider Sigma BEMS system will be updated, firstly on Test then subsequently on Live to deliver the new reporting capabilities
  • Work will then be undertaken to implement the nee licensing model, firstly on Test then subsequently on Live
  • A disaster recovery test on the Live system will be then undertaken to confirm there is no impact having implemented the new licensing model
• The significance of the above approach is that the upgrade can be delivered quickly and not delayed by any unexpected technical issues with the new licensing model, which in turn can be managed on its own
• The upgrade of the Schneider Sigma BEMS system to version 4.08 has been completed on the Test system enabling user testing to commence

  Issues

• Whilst not an issue, there is still the requirement to confirm the new licensing arrangements for both the Live and the Test system with the supplier.  This is currently being managed by the senior user. The work to implement the new licensing model will not start until an agreement is in place.

  Next Steps

• Complete user acceptance testing of the upgraded application on Test
• Install upgrade on the live environment
• Implement and Test the new licensing model, firstly on Test then subsequently Live
• Undertake disaster recovery test on the live environment
