Monthly Progress Report

Report Date
April 2015

The limited progress this month has been due to waiting for the upgrade to 21.3. Since the upgrade the application has not worked for On Demand due to technical issues resulting in making no progress

As of 7-May pm we are able to get into On Demand, now the next stage is to check the functionality

Achievements

  • Clarity on the status of known issues has been classified into , which have been split into; Bug, Improvement, Problem or Question
  • No progress can be made on the above until the issues with the 21.3 upgrade are resolved and it is successfully working (further fixes arrived 7-May-15 to be implemented straight away)
  • With regards the monthly communications bulletins
    • The March/April bulletin has been circulated and agreed within the project team and has been distributed to the established mailing list on 4-May
  • Fault reporting classification and it's structure has been agreed
  • Weekly meeting with Mass has been arranged for a Tuesday morning to talk through current issues

Issues

  • The Upgrade to 21.3 has severely limited the progress on the Help Desk project
  • As part of the proof of concept, it has been noted that there will be the requirement to enable additional information to be captured on the mobile application in relation to; internal stores, gas related work orders and PAT testing. Potential solutions to these items are currently being explored with Mass and development work will be required to fulfill this work
  • Until we have proved we have a working system after the 21.3 upgrade it ha not been possible to progress with Testing and working through the JIRAs
  • Due to the above issues,
    • it has not been possible to provide a full demonstration of the On Demand process to the project team
    • consultation with the Estates business partners has been delayed
    • there has been the requirement to re-plan the project based on the understanding that the proof of concept can be completed by mid May.  However, the plan has still to be agreed with both the project team and project sponsor.

Next Steps

  • Requirement to confirm the impact of the 21.3 upgrade once we are given the all clear to check out On Demand again
  • EBIS Support to check out On Demand application i) regression testing ii) work through raised JIRAs iii) continue with preparing a Demo of the application
  • Verify that the Proof of Concept work is complete
  • Customers User Guide will be started in later May
  • To refine workflow process, if required, following feedback from project team
  • Review fault reporting with the trades representatives
  • Commence consultation with the Estates department business partners regarding fault reporting
  • Put through more scenarios in the system, including Furniture and Landscaping scenarios, and test mobile device integration
  • The trades representatives will be taking part in the acceptance testing.
  • The trades representatives will be logging results and issues
  • Demo of On Demand to take place during May with the project sponsor and project team

Due to the on-going issues and the unexpected delays, the project has been assigned a RAG status of RED whilst discussions and investigations are on-going with Mass to resolve the reported issues

Milestones

Milestones required refined and approved with the Project Sponsor once a Demo of the system is available to show
