Monthly Progress Report

Report Date
May 2015

Achievements

  • The previously reported issues associated with the creation of SLA's and assigning work requests have been resolved as at 4th June.  This will now enable the project to recommence application testing and evaluation

  • During the month, two of the Trades Team Leaders have reviewed the mobile application on a number of android mobile devices, namely three different sized mobiles and two tablets. The general feedback indicated that there were no immediate concerns using either of the devices, although there were pro's and con's for both.  The tablet provided a slight better user experience but offered challenges regarding carrying and protecting multiple devices, whereas the mobile phone was more practical for transporting

  • Work has continued to expand the Fault types with on-going consultation with the various Trades teams

Issues

  • Whilst now resolved, the issues associated with the SLA's and assigning work requests have greatly impacted on the progress of the project
  • As part of the proof of concept, it has been noted that there will be the requirement to enable additional information to be captured on the mobile application in relation to; internal stores, gas related work orders and PAT testing. Potential solutions to these items are currently being explored with Mass to determine impact and the level of development that will be required to deliver such functionality
  • Due to the reported issues, the project plan has had to be re-planned and is currently based on the understanding that the proof of concept can be completed by mid June.  However, the plan has still to be agreed with both the project team and project sponsor

Next Steps

  • Working through the SLA process.
  • EBIS Support to check out On Demand application i) regression testing ii) work through raised JIRAs iii) continue with preparing a Demo of the application
  • Verify that the Proof of Concept work is complete
  • Customers User Guide will be started in June
  • To refine workflow process, if required, following feedback from project team
  • Continue to review fault reporting with the trades team representatives
  • Commence consultation with the Estates department business partners regarding fault reporting
  • Put through more scenarios in the system, including Furniture and Landscaping scenarios, and test mobile device integration
  • The trades representatives will be taking part in the acceptance testing.
  • The trades representatives will be logging results and issues
  • Demo of On Demand to take place during June with the project sponsor and project team

Having now overcome the previously reported technical issues enabling the project to now progress, and whilst appreciating that a few challenges and unknowns may possibly lie ahead, the project has been assigned an overall RAG status of Green
