Section One: Programme Commentary, RAG and Resources Update

Overall Programme RAG: GREEN

The MVM programme continues at a time of significant change for MVM IT. The new LTW division is now in place, with resulting changes in MVM support, and the College is undertaking a strategic review of its IT services.

The main project MVM002 projects has slipped a couple of weeks since last month, but remains on course to deliver almost all the migrations by start of term.

MVM005 is a funded development managed by the Apps Development Team. The project was on course for UAT but there have been no recent updates or confirmations of milestones so project is at Red.

MVM006 has started , to migrate current MVM website content to EdWeb.

MVM007 has started, for the NHS Data Share analysis.

The overall budget is shown as over-estimate, but this is due to the additional days been expended to do post-deployment EPSAT fixes (MVM001) and continued work on MVM005. So we can regard the programme as Green status for this reason.

This totals 17 days. This effort is deemed as 'write-off' by Development but show against the MVM budget at present.

There are10 days on the balance row to use for any key analysis/project management pieces identified by the programme owner. Without the write-off the programme has effectively 26 days contingency.

MVM003 is a separate 'non-Apps' analysis piece.

Report completed by Maurice Franceschi for June 2015

The project team have reviewed current plan, with changes as follows.

The current migration of non-Windows sstes is completed bar one. This has been ready for UAT sign-off in TEST from Stewart Cromar, after which then deployment can happen quickly. PM will contact Stewart for sign-off.

The TAD needs updated to reflect tweaks and changes needed since the machines were prepared for Matt to work with. This needs signed off by production to complete the LIVE build. Due to assignments to current projects, Alistair will not complete this work until later in July. Matt estimates the completion of his TEST migration of all the remaining sites (bar Windows below) by mid-July and on LIVE by mid-August.

The Windows i/f being delivered by COM014 will be ready in July, earlier than planned, so the work for the final migrations can be brought forward into September, and closure earlier too. The additional scope around Adobe Connect and the Easter Bush dependancy are now within the project and fudned and planned for completion in August, mainly by Fernando and Anthony Davies at EB.

No report submitted by Project Manager since April.

Programme Manager : my understanding is that there has been a delivery within the agreed budget, but that funding is being sought by project manager to make final improvements to the usability of the system rather than close the project. Status Red.
