Priority and Funding

This project is a priority 2.

A similar deployment timing to previous projects will be required. This deployment will occur before the summer change freeze.

The project will negotiate its go live date with the user community.

There are currently three projects scheduled for Moodle before the end of academic year 15/16.

TEL025 (Moodle Course Enrollment Management) which is deploying through the environments on the current version. The plan would be that we follow them through. TEL025 is expected to deploy in Feb/March 2016. This project is using the Moodle Web Services API.
TEL031 (VLE Student Analytics) is a learning analytics pilot with Civitas Learning. They will be looking to take data from Moodle and the project is targeting a delivery in time for the start of the next academic year. We need to make sure we take Civitas with us as the Moodle environment changes.
There is also a small Principals Teaching Award Scheme (PTAS) doing an analytics pilot. DLAM and Informatics are doing the development work. It relies on read only access to the live database and we must make sure we don't break this access. Matt Hammond from the DLAM team has been added as a stakeholder.
Although closed the TEL021 project delivered a management information reporting tool. We must not break any of that work. Plugins will have relevance to this work where they must be included or excluded depending on the choices made through TEST.
The current servers will be moving from RedHat to CentosOS in March/April. This will occur before we use the environments and should not impact the project, but worth noting.
Important that the work patterns of the Moodle user community is taken into consideration.
An updated version of the Collaborate plugin will alos be progressing through the Moodle environments.
