Funk Cataloguing Projects
- Report Date
- June 2016
Achievements
38,346 items have been handled via Funk Projects and 35,109 Funk records added/amended so far. The Funk cataloguers are working collaboratively to finish the remaining collections planned for Funk Projects, Natural Science, TR and LR, ahead of July 2016.
Dr Robert Funk visited on 23 May with his partner Janine, son Robert Funk Jnr and daughter-in-law Kim. After a meeting with the Principal where they recieved copies of the Given in Good Faith publication, they were welcomed at New College Library with a display of current rare book cataloguing and a presentation on the New College Archives. The party also had a tour of Stack III. They then moved on to the Main Library where they received a detailed introduction to the Given in Good Faith exhibition.
Planning meetings are being held to decide on Special Collections cataloguing projects which will continue post-Funk in 2016/17, building on the work achieved over the last 10 years. Planning is also under way to use the small amount remaining unspent of the Funk funds (which can be carried over to 2016/17) for Kirsty Stewart's New College Collections Curator post and potentially a smal amount of additional rare book cataloguer resource.
