HPC Storage

We have a proposal from OCF with one option that Jan (Winter) sees at the preferred solution.

We need to clarify with David Fergusson and David Perry if the IGMM 1TB is includes in this solution.

If it is, the proposal may need a further iteration.

We are still waiting on a proposal from Arcastream. In Jan’s view, they will not come up with a better proposal that OCF anyway.

I need to clarify route to purchase for the OCF option. i.e. What framework will it be through.

Mellanox.

We have arranged the ACF (Data Centre) and users that the Mellanox switches will go in on the week beginning 27^th January.

Alces will be on side to do the delivery. We will start draining nodes down from the 23^rd of Dec.

However, there is an issue with the configuration of the switches and the number of usable ports.

We are in discussions with Alces, Esteem and Mellanox to try and come up with a solution.

General Out Of Support Items.

I have requested quotes for the following infrastructure categories from Esteem.

Eddie NFS Server x 3

Fibre Channel Switches x 6

IGMM Storage Arrays x 3

Datastore Network Switches x 2

1GB Management switches x 20

Once we get the initial Specs and quotes, we can take it from there.

Key dates at the moment are driven by wither the HPC storage includes the IGMM storage. In which case the dates for far more aggressive.

Dates
