New Projects Website Features Available from 11 December 2019
A new set of changes has been introduced to the Projects Website today! Read on to find out what's new and what's changed...
Updates to Projects
Project Assumptions
Assumptions can now be captured in the Issues, Changes, Assumptions and Decisions log.
A new category of 'Assumption' has been added and minor changes to the log have been made to make it more relevant to the four categories.
New Project Fields
You can now capture more information on your projects:
| Field | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Senior Supplier | an optional field if this role is relevant to your project |
| Senior User | an optional field if this role is relevant to your project |
| Alignment to Strategy 2030 | a place to capture how your project is supporting the updated University strategy |
View of Project Information
A lot of useful information can be captured about a project. As well as being able to use our new reporting tool, you can now see the information entered about your project by clicking on the 'More project Information' link at the bottom of the Project Info block on your project home page:

Improved Project Issues, Changes, Assumptions and Decisions Log Summary page
This log now shows open logs with the most recent entry at the top of the page so you can see your most recent project logs rather than the oldest.
Updates to Programmes
Programme Assumptions
Assumptions can now be captured in the Issues, Changes, Assumptions and Decisions log.
A new category of 'Assumption' has been added and minor changes to the log have been made to make it more relevant to the four categories.
Programme RAG shows on the home page (if populated)
The last update in October introduced the ability to give your programme a RAG status when creating a programme report.
If you've give your programme a RAG status, you'll now see this on your programme home page.

RAG Date included with Project RAG on the Programme home page
Projects that belong to a programme are shown as a list on the programme home page.
As well as the latest project RAG (if available), you will also see the date of the RAG so there is more context around when the RAG was assigned.

Risk Log Displays Fields in Correct Order
This is a bug fix that means when you view a programme risk, you see the 'consequences' field (if it's been populated) in the correct place and not at the bottom of the screen.
Improved Programme Issues, Changes, Assumptions and Decisions Log Summary Page
This log now shows open logs with the most recent entry at the top of the page so you can see your most recent project logs rather than the oldest.
Updates to Portfolios
RAG Date included with Project RAG on the Portfolio Session page
Projects that have been selected as part of a portfolio are shown as a list on the portfolio session page.
As well as the latest project RAG (if available), you will also see the date of the RAG so there is more context around when the RAG was assigned.
Improved Portfolio Issue Log Summary Page
This log now shows open logs with the most recent entry at the top of the page so you can see your most recent project logs rather than the oldest.
My Dashboard now includes Portfolios
In your profile you can now see your portfolio information along with projects and programmes.
Go to 'View profile' then 'My dashboard' to see this. This is a handy place to see items that belong to you in the Projects Website.
Reporting Updates
In the last update we piloted a link to reporting dashboards for projects, programmes and portfolios.
After a successful pilot we are continuing to develop reports that will be useful for you as project, programme and portfolio managers. Thanks to everyone who gave feedback and contributed to the creation of the reports.
In this release we have updated the standard reports and added a project risks page.
The PMO will be continuing to work on the reports and will have more to come in the new year.
