New Projects Website Features Available from 16 October 2019
We have some exciting new features to introduce to the Projects Website today!
We've been concentrating on building our reporting data model, which is a lot of work behind the scenes to support a new dashboard feature. Along with that, there are a handful of other new features that you can make use of from today.
Here's what has been added in this latest version of the website:
Reporting for Projects, Programmes and Portfolios
We are piloting a set of reports to give you stats on the most important parts of your project. You will see a new 'block' called 'Project Dashboard' with a link underneath.
Click on the link and you will be taken to a report for your project.
The report is only accessible if you are in the group. If you are not in the group please contact the Project Manager.
The same feature is also available on Programmes and Portfolios.
These reports are created using Microsoft Power BI. Please note, the information you see is not real time. The reports will be refreshed twice daily around 7:30am and 12:30pm.
The group permissions in the Projects Website also carry into the reports (you cannot see reports for projects, programmes, portfolio where you are not a member of the group).
Escalation Flag on all Risk Logs
You can now mark a risk that has been escalated, and to whom, on your risk logs.
This covers all risks: Projects, Programmes and Portfolios.
We hope this will prove a useful piece of information for building future reports.
Programme Updates
This time round, we've shown the Programmes some love by introducing the following updates:
New status option for Programmes
Programmes can now be marked as Open, Closed or Suspended. This is available when editing your programme home page.
New RAG status on Programme Reporting
Programme reports now allow you to choose a RAG status for your programme. This displays in the Programme Commentary page as well as the individual report.
Programmes can be tagged with one or more Project Management Office (PMO)
You can now choose a PMO for your programme. If your programme covers more than one PMO, you can select multiple options. This is available to update when editing your programme home page.
Project Updates
To support our reporting data, we've added the following at Project level:
New fields to capture project information
The new fields are Project Type, Project Size, Project Complexity. These are not mandatory and are available when editing the project home page.
Projects can be tagged with one or more Project Management Office (PMO)
You could choose a PMO for your project already, but now you can choose more than one if you need to. This is available when editing your project home page.
Bug fix - Project reports using the 'Estimate to complete...' fields
Users were seeing an error message if they created a project report but left the 'Estimate to complete current year' and 'Estimate to complete future years' fields either blank or with a '0'. This bug has now been fixed and the fields can be blank or have a '0' value.
