eTime enhancements successfully delivered, and project closed
A project to deliver significant enhancements for the eTime application has been successfully completed, and is approved for closure.
For more information about the eTime projects, please see the project websites:
eTime is available across the University, to manage time recording for staff working on Research grants, and to manage both time recording and payment for staff working on an Hours to be Notified (HTBN) basis.
For Research grants, the application offers the ability for researchers to record their activity on monthly timesheets, and submit these for approval. Once approved, the recorded time can be printed on appropriately formatted reports, to meet Framework 7 (FP7) or Research Council grant funding requirements.
For HTBN, the application allows staff members to record their work activity in monthly timesheets, then submit these as Pay Claims, for approval by two levels of approvers. Once approved at both levels, the Pay Claims are submitted to Payroll, for payment.
Both Research and HTBN time recording support data entry by proxy, allowing proxy users or approvers to record time on behalf of their staff members. In addition, HTBN time recording supports Batch Processing, which provides a quicker method of entering timesheets and approving pay claims for multiple staff members.
Access to eTime is automatic for HTBN users. For Research users and proxy users, HTBN Batch users, and all levels of approvers, access is granted via the eAuthorisations application.
eTime has been very well received by departments who are already enjoying the benefits it offers. Feedback indicates that it is an intuitive application, with very little support needed even for new users.
Finance's Project Sponsor has set a target date of 1st August for all University departments to migrate to using eTime.
