It was agreed at the DSOR 29/08/19 that the project could not yet close due to issues which have come up in the period post deployment. Closure milestone date moved to 31/10/19.
The emailing from assessments issue has been recognised as a known issue by Questionmark: they have proposed to resolve this with an upgrade to the application; it has been agreed that this upgrade be carried out by Questionmark but would need to be scheduled for the Christmas period and would be in service.
It was requested that DR testing be carried out before project closure however the outcome of discussion with ITI was proposal to move on to the stretch cluster, given that DR has been verified on the platform.
Issues
There remain two issues preventing project closure; there is a plan to resolve both of these (one within the project, the other in service).
Next Steps
Ensure platform is on infrastructure with verified level of DR.
Decommissioning of legacy QMP platform / update of TAD / Deployment checklists completed.
Options for resourcing the reporting solution and taking this work forward have been documented and previously issued to the Business Lead for consideration.
Issues
There remains no clear date as to when the Reporting API from LinkedIn Learning will be made available.
The Business Lead has had other priorities to focus on so no time has been given to considering outstanding work for this project.
Resource for building the BI Reports is not available and would have to be progressed via contract staff were this work to be taken forward.
Next Steps
An invitation to join a Reporting pilot scheme with LinkedIn Learning needs to be explored to determine if this is a worthy investment of UoE effort.
Work with business and technology to consider a tactical solution of CSV downloads rather than API use as a source for reporting.
RAG Commentary
Description of Issue:
We are only able to report service uptake and activity at an organisational level. Prior to the service upgrade from Lynda.com to LinkedIn Learning, we had developed a bespoke reporting solution that allowed reporting to School level. Previously, these detailed reports were run monthly and used to demonstrate service engagement/value for money to ISG CIO, Heads of College IT, Knowledge Strategy and IT Committees.
Project Impact:
The project has yet to deliver a full reporting solution.
Project Resolution:
To explore UoE involvement in a pilot reporting solution with the third party and consider an alternative, tactical reporting solution in discussion with the Project Sponsor and Head of Development.
