Achievements in Last Period

• The secondary load balancer was completed by 24 August 18
• PM confirmed with QMP when they would be able to pick up the test install again and they agreed 27 August

Issues

The revised dates for the Test install have been missed due to waiting on getting the secondary load balancer up and running. ITI have cited start of term issues and infrastructure team holidays as causing the delay. We got the secondary load balancer by 24 August 18. PM will revise the milestones again. It was emphasised at last revision of milestones that they were just an estimate and these ones will be too until we are sure Test has been completed. We are drawing up an implementation checklist for Live to mitigate the issues found during the Test install.   

• Mark Dobbing has been off sick and PM was not aware - only when prompting for an update was this discovered. Mark Lang asked 30/8 that he be included if any issues

  • Colin, Programme manager, informed DevTech that LTW are paying for the work (not just Apps time, but also QMP as 3rd party supplier) and due to misunderstandings with ITI there has been disagreement on some of the work; the outcome is that there is potential for QMP to be charging twice for work that has to be redone; understandably LTW are not happy with this at all so it is crucial that          PM knows exactly what is happening.
• Christian from QMP informed 30/8 that he did not have the missing IPs yet. Mark L supplied addresses on 31 August.
• On 31 August Christian reported that that he could not get VPN access to continue the install – this continues into 3 September with Mark L and Alistair Webb trying to resolve

Next Steps

PM to update milestones

• DevTech to resolve VPN issues for QMP
• QMP to complete TEST install and complete migrations
• TEST signoff
• LTW documentation tasks to start when TEST signed off

RAG Commentary

We estimated Test to be completed in August but did not receive the secondary load balancer until 24 August (due to start of term de-risking issues and infrastructure team holidays causing the delay). QMP were due to re-start 27 August but DevTech developer was off sick so QMP had not received the IP addresses. DevTech team manager has now supplied these but there is now an issue with QMP access to the servers which DevTech are currently working on. Because of all the issues surrounding the Test install the project remains at RED until we are sure TEST can be completed plus the continued delays are eating into the projects budget and there is potential for QMP to be charging twice for work that has to be redone.  We are drawing up an implementation checklist for Live to mitigate the issues found during the Test install.   

Project sponsor, programme manager, DevTech team lead are all aware of the issues with the Test install.
