Achievements

• Civitas onsite 2-3 February
• Introduced more flexible planning: Due to the style of this project the scope of the project was constantly changing.  To relieve pressure on the effort expended by continually re-planning it was been agreed by the project team to change how planning is recorded within the project. We now follow a Kanban style of recording the major tasks in the project with milestones being check-in points.
• Revision to project close date: Now 31 Jan 2018 - Agreed at the September Project Board was a change to the closure of the project with the Board wanting the project to run until the Civitas contract has ended which is 31 Jan 2018. We kept the closure milestone at 31 July until decisions came out of the December project Board and we now confirm that closure should be at the end of the Civitas contract.
• The learning analytics opt-in survey has been issued to the student panel c.400 students to gauge views on the questions and the use of learning analytics within the institution. The survey will be open for 2 weeks then the data will be passed to Yi-Shan Tsai for factor analysis before the survey goes forward to ethics for approval. 

Issues

• Still issues with the data model. Civitas are investigating the issues this month and will be producing data validation this month along with a definition around Active Student. There will be 2 check-ins with Civitas in Feb – 10^th and 22^nd.  They will also be producing an interruption filter and VLE filter. Data validation is now expected by 22 February
• Lesley and Steph found issues with the new visuals and are following up with Civitas.
• There is still reticence to move on including the UG data so Dragan and Sian will look at the data after validation and make their recommendations on how to continue. To include UG we need to take it back to KSE as a change of scope. This is too tight for the 24 March meeting so the recommendations will go to the meeting on the 2 June. For the meeting in March Anne-Marie and Lisa will submit an interim paper outlining where we are and likely possibilities going forward.

Achievements in Last Period

• Sponsor has advised that there is likely to be no further progress on this initiative until a decision is made on direction.

Issues

• Project may be subsumed into Service Excellence programme and may cease to exist from an IS perspective (See recent issue statements).
• Responses from Service Excellence Programme are delayed. Sponsor is discussing the situation with Director of Learning and Teaching to establish best way forward.

Next Steps​

• Await feedback on the above.

Achievements in Last Period

• Handover meetings scheduled with Project Sponsor and new PM.
• Project Brief ready for review.

Issues

• Delay to end of planning due to resource conflict (mainly due to PM working on MVM009 and MVM314). This issue is being resolved by a change to PM and the approach has been agreed with the Project Sponsor.

Next Steps

• Agree project brief, high level timeline, and milestones.
• Review risks with Project Team.
• Review budget and resourcing.

The project current status is AMBER (time) due to delay to planning tasks however this is expected to return to GREEN next month.

• Project Brief and plans were approved by project team on 3 February and End of Planning submitted to WIS week beginning 6 February

Issues

• Project Sponsor believed the project should have a priority 1 status and a change of priority has been lodged with Mark Ritchie
