The Programme Commentary

Overall progress within the Programme is as follows :

RIS005 - Closure in progress
RIS007 - Pure Live environment has been successfully upgraded to 5.15.2-1 and also upgrade Java Open JDK, project closure now completed
RIS008 - Finalising Options paper approval and prep for project closure
RIS011 - Deployed Pure v5.16.1 into development environment - project only showing as RED due to project manager availability due to contract due to end in January. This is a wider project manager resource risk across Applications
RIS012 - Milestone changes due to industrial action

For REF2021 interest projects have been added and a communication has been issued out to all project managers for any new projects to be included.

Please find link to REF2021 Portfolio page. Some interest projects have been added to the list and a further communication to project managers to highlight importance of REF2021 and to confirm if any other projects should be recorded.

Limited activity due to discussion around when SSO required
Revised closure milestone agreed

Issues

Business team and supplier not ready for SSO set up and not likely required until into 2020 therefore project sponsor has asked for this to be completed out with project
Discuss support to complete activity with Production and Development teams and to be completed under UNIDESK call therefore gaining agreement to project closure in December

Next Steps

Completion report review with Procurement and gain sign off from key stakeholders

The project status is GREEN as new closure date agreed

RIS007 PURE Upgrades v5.13 to 5.15

Achievements in Last Period

v5.16.1 was deployed to the development environment.
Initial meeting attended to consider future use of a cloud portal.

Issues

No forward plan for replacement of Project Manager due to leave in January (reason for reporting a RAG status of RED).

Next Steps

Preparations for deployment of v5.16.2 to the development environment with work to be undertaken by alternative resource.
Further discussions to be had with the 3rd party Elsevier on the use of a cloud portal.

RAG Commentary: All projects underway as per forward look and budget within programme is as expected at this stage in the financial year. Some concerns have been raised over PM resourcing due to contractor resource due to leave in January 2020 and limited PM resource available to cover. This is being taken forward at Project Services level.
